Effect of sulphur and micronutrients on growth and yield of mustard

International Journal of Research in Agronomy · 2024 · Vol. 7(8) · pp. 645–648

Abstract

A field experiment was conducted during Rabi 2023-2024 at the Crop Research Farm, Department of Agronomy, SHUATS, Prayagraj (U.P) on the topic “Effect of Sulphur and Micronutrients on Growth and Yield of Mustard”, to study treatments consisting of three levels of Sulphur viz. 10, 20, 30 kg/ha and Micro nutrients viz. Iron 20 kg/ha, Zinc 20 kg/ha, Manganese 20 kg/ha. There were 10 treatments each being replicated thrice and laid out in Randomized Block Design. The results revealed that significant and higher plant height (177.12 cm), Maximum Number of branches/plant (11.93), higher plant dry weight (115.70 g), higher number of siliquae/plant (184.43), higher seed yield (1820.76 kg/ha) and higher stover yield (3468.20 kg/ha). Maximum in gross returns (1,10,546.40 INR/ha), net returns (75546.40 INR/ha) and B:C ratio (2.16) was recorded in treatment-8 [Sulphur (30 kg/ha) + Zinc (20 kg/ha)].
