International Journal of Research in Agronomy · 2024 · Vol. 7(8S) · pp. 613–617

Abstract

An field experiment was conducted during Kharif season of 2021-22 at certified organic research farm of Centre of Organic Agriculture Research and Training (COART), Department of Agronomy, Dr. Panjabrao Deshmukh Krishi Vidyapeeth, Akola (Maharashtra), India. The treatments includes sole pigeonpea and pigeonpea intercropped with Soybean, blackgram, sesame, metsta, barn yard millet and finger millet in 1:4 row proportion. Pigeonpea + Soybean (1:4) intercropping system recorded significantly higher yield contributing characters and yield of pigeonpea followed by Pigeonpea + Blackgram and sole pigeonpea when sown on ridge prepared in between two BBF. While, Pigeonpea + Parching sorghum (1:4) intercropping system recorded higher GMR, NMR and B:C ratio followed by Pigeonpea + Blackgram (1:4) intercropping system.
