Abstract

A field experiment entitled “Effect of foliar application of nano urea on growth parameters, yield attributes and yield of mustard (Brassica juncea L.)” carried out during rabi season of 2022-23 at Main Oilseeds Research Station, Junagadh Agricultural University, Junagadh. The soil of the experimental site was silty clay loam in texture and alkaline in reaction with pH 7.94 and EC 0.26 dS/m. The experiment was laid out in randomized block design with three replications comprised with 14 treatments. The result of field experiment revealed that significantly higher values of growth parameters viz., plant height, number of branches/plant and yield attributes viz., number of siliquae per plant, number of seeds per siliqua and yield viz., seed yield (2709 kg/ha) and stover yield (5207 kg/ha) were recorded higher with the application of 100% RDF + foliar spray of 0.4% nano urea at 30 and 45 DAS (T5). Significantly, being at par with application of 100% RDF + foliar spray of 0.2% nano urea at 30 and 45 DAS (T4), 100% RDF + foliar spray of 0.6% nano urea at 30 and 45 DAS (T6) and 75% RDF + foliar spray of 0.6% nano urea at 30 and 45 DAS. Based on one year's field experimentation, it can be concluded that higher production from rabi mustard can be secured by application of 100% of RDF (50-50-0 kg N-P2O5-K2O/ha) + foliar spray of 0.4% nano urea at 30 and 45 DAS on silty clay loam soil of South Saurashtra Agro-climatic Zone of Gujarat. For reduced the fertilizer, followed by application of 75% RDF + foliar spray of 0.6% nano urea at 30 and 45 DAS.
