Thyroglossal cyst successfully treated with Calcarea phosphorica: A case report

Abstract

A thyroglossal cyst is a fluid-filled sac that forms in the neck during foetal development. It typically develops in the midline of the neck, near the hyoid bone, which is a small bone located between the chin and the thyroid cartilage. Thyroglossal cyst is an embryologic remnant that forms due to the failure of closure of the thyroglossal duct extending from the foramen cecum in the tongue to the thyroid’s location in the neck.A patient suffering from swelling in front of neck for 2 years is presented. After case analysis and evaluation, totality was constructed and the most appropriate one Calcarea phosphorica 0/1 was prescribed. A proper follow-up record was maintained and given accordingly. The treatment was continued for 2-3 months and the swelling was completely healed at end of the treatment. In this case study, homoeopathic treatment is recommended, highlighting the importance of indivualization in customised homoeopathic prescriptions.
