Abstract

This review article discusses the applications of Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) in endodontics, highlighting its potential in visualizing soft tissues, detecting periapical lesions, and evaluating pulp vitality. The article emphasizes the advantages of MRI over traditional radiographic imaging modalities, including its non-invasive nature and lack of ionizing radiation. Recent advances in MRI technology, such as high-resolution dental MRI and diffusion-weighted imaging, are also explored. The article concludes by discussing the challenges and limitations of MRI in endodontics, including high acquisition costs, long scan times, and motion artifacts.
