International Journal of Research in Agronomy · 2024 · Vol. 7(7) · pp. 594–596

Abstract

The present investigation entitled “Evaluation of Jackfruit (Artocarpus heterophyllus Lam) Germplasm on Qualitative and Quantitative Characters from Banswara District of Rajasthan” It was carried out during the year 2023-2024 at Department of Horticulture, Rajasthan College of Agriculture, M.P.U.A.T, Udaipur, Rajasthan. Out of four explorations twenty jackfruit germplasm was collected randomly. The results demonstrated that maximum fruit length (45.20 cm), fruit diameter (22.50 cm) and fruit weight (11.70 kg) were recorded in BJC-17 genotype. It can be utilized in future breeding programs to improve productivity and quality attributes. Furthermore, the variability revealed in the current study might be applied to jackfruit improvement programs. Finally, plant breeders and horticulturists can select germplasm based on their requirements. These jackfruit germplasms can contribute to future variety attempts.
