Bioefficacy of bioagents against Sclerotium rolfsii (Sacc.) under in-vitro condition by using center pathogen method

Abstract

Sclerotium rolfsii (Sacc.) is a polyphagous pathogen, infecting more than 500 species of cultivated and wild plants. The infection causes mortality losses that range from 10 to 100%. Hence it is necessary to use bioagents against this pathogen for effective disease management under in vitro condition. In this study in-vitro bioefficacy of the bioagents mainly Trichoderma harzianum shows 82.40% inhibition followed by T. asperelloides 80.92%, T. atroviride 80.55% and T. asperellum 80.00% against the pathogen by using center pathogen methods. Among the bacterial bioagents B. subtilis (44.25%) followed by P. fluorescence (41.11%) shows highest per cent mycelial growth inhibition.
