Corporate governance in Indian telecom sector

International Journal of Research in Management · 2024 · Vol. 6(2) · pp. 34–40

Abstract

Corporate governance plays a vital role in the conduct of business. This study focuses on the importance of corporate governance in business operations, particularly in Indian-listed companies. The objectives include studying the disclosure practices in the Indian telecom sector and analysing the impact of corporate governance on firm performance. Secondary data was collected from reputable publications for a descriptive and empirical study, employing analytical tools such as mean and standard deviation. The findings indicate that Indian listed companies adhere to clause 49 of corporate governance. Jio has the highest return on assets (ROA) and net profit, and most companies provide full disclosure, enhancing transparency and accountability.
