Molecular detection of Trichomonas foetus in women and cow in Babylon province, Iraq

Abstract

The present study was conducted to detect the presence of Trichomonas foetus from reproductive tract of women and cows in Babylon Province, Iraq. The study included the collection of 200 vaginal swabs (100 women and 100 cows). These samples were tested using microscopy, measuring trophozoites, and PCR that targeted the 18S rRNA gene of the protozoan.
