Abstract

The present experiment was carried out at Horticulture Farm, Department of Fruit Science, College of Agriculture, IGKV, Raipur (C.G) with the objective to study the effect of IBA and bio-stimulants on sprouting behavior and shoot growth of Fig cuttings. The experiment was replicated thrice using Complete Randomized Design. Significant effect of IBA and bio-stimulants were observed on sprouting and shoot parameters of cuttings. The earliest and maximum number of sprouted cuttings, sprouting percentage of cuttings, length of longest and shortest shoot, number of shoot and fresh and dry weight of shoot were recorded in IBA 2000 ppm (19.80 days, 8.65, 86.34, 6.83 cm, 3.90 cm,4.00,15.94 gm and 5.95 gm., respectively). The highest survival percentage of cuttings was recorded in IBA 3000 ppm. Among bio-stimulants, PSB and Trichoderma virde were found to be the next best treatments in improving all the sprouting and shoot parameters in comparison to rest of the treatments.
