Abstract
Introduction: Supernumerary teeth continue to occur more frequently worldwide, with a prevalence of 0.3 to 3.8%, depending on the dentition. Up to 28% in patients with congenital anomalies and 1% in non-syndromic patients. Objective: To analyze the literature on the etiology, epidemiology, classification and management of supernumerary teeth. Methodology: A search strategy was carried out in PubMed, Scopus and Google Scholar databases, using a combination of keywords including:
