Effect of multimedia assisted teaching program in awareness of knowledge, attitude and practice about prevention of communicable diseases among the Indian Hajj Pilgrims, Makkah

Abstract

As Hajj is one the largest gathering and there is more chance for the communicable diseases. Most of the communicable diseases are preventable. The objectives for this study were to assess the awareness of knowledge, attitude and practice about prevention of communicable diseases among the Indian Hajj pilgrims in Makkah; determine the effectiveness of multimedia assisted teaching on it, and find out the association among variables. 107 samples were selected by using convenient sampling method. Structured questionnaire with semi structured interview schedule was used to assess the Knowledge and attitude. An observational checklist of hand hygiene is used for the assessment of practice.
