Abstract

The study was conducted at the Laboratory of the Department of Zoology, B. N. Mandal University in Madhepura, Bihar, India. The experiment was carried from May 2019 to April 2021. The average Total Bacterial Count (TBC) in the control water tank was 2.7 while the average TBC in treatment tank T1 was 3.9. The average TBC in treatment tank T2 was also 3.90. This suggests that treatment tank T2 had a similar average total bacterial count as treatment tank T1. In fish samples the TBC value were 0.76, 1.09 and 1.23 for T0, T1 and T2 respectively. The average Total Coliform Count (TCC) in fish in the control tank was 0.29. The average TCC in treatment tank T1 was 0.53. Compared to the control tank, treatment tank T1 fish had a higher average total coliform count. The average TCC in treatment tank T2 was 1.23 with a standard deviation of 0.08. Treatment tank T2 had the highest average total coliform count among the three treatment tanks.
