The influence of healthcare policies on hospital operations and management

International Journal of Research in Management · 2024 · Vol. 6(1) · pp. 273–275

Abstract

This paper examines the significant impact of healthcare policies on the operations and management of hospitals. Through a comprehensive review of existing literature and policy documents, combined with a series of expert interviews, this study delineates how different healthcare regulations shape hospital efficiencies, quality of care, patient outcomes, and financial stability. The analysis focuses on several key policy areas including Medicare and Medicaid reforms, insurance coverage mandates, and quality assurance standards. The findings suggest that well-designed policies can lead to improved hospital performance, whereas poorly crafted regulations may hinder hospital operations. The paper concludes with strategic recommendations for policymakers to support hospital management and improve overall healthcare delivery.
