International Journal of Arts Humanities and Social Studies · 2023 · Vol. 5(2) · pp. 54–55
Abstract
The contribution of Hindus to history writing in Urdu has special significance since they were a part of the knowledge, which had emerged under the Great Mughals Especially form the time of Akbar onwards. In this context a radical change occurred in the second half of the 19th century. Ayodhya Prasad ‘Bahar’ who wrote Riaz-i-Tirhut in Urdu made the first attempt in this direction. Riaz literally means Garden. The meaning of the title of the books is gardens of Tirhut.
