The medical equipment needed can range from highly sophisticated life support systems in tertiary hospitals to the simplest devices needed to accurately diagnose and safely treat patients in primary care. For hospitals to achieve these goals, they must develop and implement an initiative known as a Medical Equipment Management Program (MEMP), which outlines the actions that must be taken to mitigate the risks associated with specific medical devices.
