Cotardrsquo;s Syndrome in a young male patient: A case report and review of literature

Abstract

Background: Cotard's Syndrome is a very rare neuropsychiatric condition in which the sufferer holds a delusional belief that he or she is dead, does not exist, is putrefying or has lost his/her blood or internal organs. It is seen in subjects with depression, schizophrenia and organic syndromes. Cotard's syndrome is in general reported to be more common in females and older age groups with rare occurrence in an adult male.
