Renewing and updating of the scientific and common names of the most noctuid species (Lepidoptera: Noctuidae) in Egypt

Abstract
About 39 noctuid species have been renewing and updated here concerning their scientific and common or vernacular names. The studied species all from family: Noctuidae (Order: Lepidoptera) that are belonging to seven subfamilies i.e.; three species from subfamily: Amphipyrinae; four species from: Catocalinae; six species from: Eublemminae; six species from: Hadeninae; three species from: Heliothinae; ten species from: Noctuinae and seven species from: Plusiinae. The host plants and geographical distribution have been briefly cited.
