Requirements for a vision-based system for detecting epileptic seizures

Abstract

Epileptic seizures can pose a risk to those affected, which can be reduced by seizure monitoring. However, the automated vision-based detection of epileptic seizures comes with some challenges of computer vision. In this work, basic knowledge about epileptic seizures and relevant computer vision methods are presented. Based on this and other literature, requirements for a system for detecting seizures are derived and discussed.
