Butterflies diversity in Maldevta region of Uttarakhand

Abstract

The study was carried out in spring seasons of 2017 and 2018 in the forest area of Maldevta region. The distinct butterflies were collected from sites and preserved according to their body size and density. The total 26 species of butterflies were collected, identified and categorized as their families and sub –families like Papilionidae: Papilioninae; Pieridae: Pierinae, Coliadinae; Nymphalidae: Nymphalinae, Satyrinae, Danainae; Lycaenidae: Lycaeninae, Hesperiidae.
