Abstract
is reported for the first time from Maharashtra, India. The species was originally described from the Mahanadi River, Tikarpada, Angul District, Odisha. It is distinguished from other members of the genus Osteobrama by having rostral and maxillary barbels; 25-26 branched anal-fin rays and 61-67 lateral line scales.
