Soil quality assessment in some rural parts near Ellenabad city, Sirsa (Haryana)

Abstract

Soil samples were analyzed in Ellenabad area of Sirsa district (Haryana) to find out the degree of contamination due to agro-chemicals. Ellenabad, a semi – arid area is well-known for agriculture. Fifteen samples were collected from different villages and analyzed. Various physico – chemical parameters like pH, EC, OC, nitrogen, potassium, P2O5, CaO, Fe2O3, Zn and Mn were analyzed. These parameters are significant to decide the soil productivity. The soil samples were found to be deficient with respect to most of the parameters.
