Effect of integrated nutrient management on growth and yield in black gram (Vigna mungo L. Hepper) under doon valley condition

Abstract

The field experiment entitled ‘‘Effect of Integrated Nutrient Management on Growth and Yield in Black gram (Vigna mungo L. Hepper) under Doon valley condition’’ was conducted during Rabi season of 2018 at the Department of Agronomy, Doon (PG) College of Agriculture Science and Technology, Dehradun (Selaqui). The experiment was laid out in a Randomized Block Design with 08 treatments with three replications and the layout plan is given as follows: T1- Control (No fertilizer); T2- RDF (20:60:20 kg NPK/ha) + Rhizobium; T3-FYM @ 4 t/ha; T4- 100% RDF (inorganic) +FYM @ 2t/ha + Rhizobium; T5- 50% RDF (inorganic) +FYM @ 2t/ha + Rhizobium; T6- Vermicompost @ 2 t/ha + Rhizobium; T7- 100% RDF (inorganic) + Vermicompost @ 1.0 t/ha + Rhizobium; T8- 50% RDF (inorganic) + Vermicompost @ 1.0 t/ha +Rhizobium. Results showed that different effect of integrated nutrient management treatments had significant effect on all the growth parameters (Plant height, plant population, No. Of branches/plant, percent of flowering, number of root nodules) and yield attributes (number of pods/plant, pod length and seeds/pod, seed straw, biological yields of black gram. The maximum values of these parameters was recorded in the treatment with T4- 100% RDF (inorganic) + FYM @2 t/ha + Rhizobium followed by T7-100% RDF (inorganic) + Vermicompost @1.0 t/ha + Rhizobium.
