The prognosis of myocardial infarction (STEMI & NSTEMI) in patients with metabolic syndrom
Abstract
A recent review of insulin resistance syndrome (IRS) revealed a rapid escalation of metabolic syndrome among Indians and that the prevalence of predominant component of metabolic syndrome varied from region to region in Indians. Studies on the pathophysiology of this syndrome revealed close to a six-fold increase in cardiovascular mortality. Standardized definition of MI and clinical outcome will be used.
