Evaluation of serum uric acid levels in cerebrovascular accident cases admitted at RVM Hospital, Siddipet district, Telangana state
Abstract
Introduction: Cerebrovascular accidents are the most common cause of infirmity and third leading cause of death in developed countries. It is an important cause of disability in western world. Among all the neurological diseases of adult life, the cerebrovascular ranks first in frequency and importance. At least 50% of the neurological disorders in a general hospital are of this type. Objective of this study is to study the relation of serum uric acid levels in diagnosis & prognoses of cerebrovascular accidents and to correlate the serum uric acid levels in cerebrovascular accidents. Methodology: Hospital based Prospective, observational study. The study group comprises of 50 cases with history & clinical features suggestive of cerebrovascular accidents admitted in the department of General Medicine, RVM Hospital, Siddipet district, Telangana state. The study was conducted from November 2019 to July 2020.
