In-vitro antimicrobial activity of Achyrenthes aspera L. with different extraction solvents
Abstract
The present study was aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of antimicrobial activity with various extraction solvents against gram positive bacteria (B. claussii) and gram negative bacteria (A. altamirensis and M. yunannensis). Fresh root parts were extracted at room temperature using different solvents (Methanol, acetone, ethanol and distilled water). In the results, gram positive bacteria were found more susceptible as compared to gram negative bacteria. Solvents with methanol demonstrated better antimicrobial activity as compared to other solvents used. 100% extraction was observed as best inhibition zone. Statistical analysis demonstrated significant difference (p
