Effect of integrated nutrient management on crude protein content in grain and straw of Oat (Avena sativa) in red and lateritic soil of West Bengal
Abstract
An experiment was conducted in rabi season during 2014-15 to find out the effect of integrated nutrient management on oat. The study revealed the maximum grain crude protein content (7.94%) found in Azotobacter + PSB + 75% N & P + Recommended K, Zn (T4). Maximum straw crude protein content (2.03%) recorded in Azotobacter + 75% N + Recommended P, K, Zn (T3). Total crude protein yield found to be highest (264.37 kg ha-1) from Azotobacter + PSB + KSB + 75% N, P & K + Recommended Zn (T5). Azotobacter + PSB + KSB + 75% N, P & K + Recommended Zn (T5) may be recommended to get higher protein productivity using reduced chemical fertilizer input and at lower cost.
