Prevalence of fore-stomach disorders in buffaloes in and around Udaipur district in Rajasthan)
Abstract
Total 2145 buffaloes were screened for a period of one year i.e July 2017 to June 2018. Among 2145 buffaloes, 28.67 percent were found affected with gastrointestinal disorders. The overall prevalence of fore-stomach disorders was found 4.99 percent. Total 9 types of fore-stomach disorders were diagnosed and highest prevalence was recorded for simple indigestion 35 (32.71%) followed by tympany 21 (19.35%), acidosis 18 (16.82%), ruminal Impaction 11 (10.28%), traumatic reticuloperitonitis 09 (8.41%), traumatic percarditis 05 (4.47%), alkalosis 04 (3.74%), diaphragmatic hernia 03 (2.80%) and omasal impaction was diagnosed in only one case with 01 (0.93%) percent prevalence.
