Physical compatibility of agro-chemicals in laboratory

Abstract

Experiment was conducted at Department of Agricultural Entomology, University of Agricultural Sciencesâ€s Dharwad to assess the compatibility of some agrochemicals. The physical stability in terms of emulsion stability of thiamethoxam 25 WGâ€s acetamiprid 20 SPâ€s profenofos 50 ECâ€s diafenthiuron 50 WPâ€s spinetoram 12 SC and nimbecidine when mixed with other agrochemicals viz.â€s carbendazim 50 WP, copper oxychloride 50 WP, MgSO4 and NAA revealed creamy matter or sediment formation not attained more than 2.0 ml at each top or bottom of the 100 ml cylinder. Formation of sedimentation in treatments with nimbecidine + copper oxychloride and copper oxychloride alone was the result of increase in pH values (> 7) which has shown alkaline condition as compared to all other treatments. The alkaline conditions might be the reason for the degradation of chemicals, it indicating that the chemicals were susceptible to alkaline decomposition. The inability of mixture of agrochemicals to form sediments or creamy matter indicates their compatibility with each other.
