Production potential of organic summer sesame as influenced by compost, foliar nutrients and biofertilizers
Abstract
The field experiment was conducted during the summer season of 2016-17, to study the “Production potential of organic summer sesame as influenced by compost, foliar nutrients and biofertilizers” on the research field of Agronomy Farm, Department of Agronomy, Dr. PDKV, Akola. The experiment was laid out in Randomize block design with ten treatments and three replications with the application of different organic sources. On the basis of results obtained in the present investigation, application of compost @ 3.3 t ha-1+ soil application of Azatobactor and PSB @ 10.0 kg ha-1+ 3 foliar spray of liquid organic NPK + one foliar spray of liquid organic S (T9) recorded the significantly highest yield of sesame seed and stover followed by application of compost @ 3.3 t ha-1+ soil application of Azatobactor and PSB @ 10.0 kg ha-1+ 3 foliar spray of liquid organic NPK (T6). Quality parameters like test weight, oil and protein content by sesame has been increased due to use of organic sources application. Highest test weight, oil and protein were recorded by the application of compost @ 3.3 t ha-1+ soil application of Azatobactor and PSB @ 10.0 kg ha-1+ 3 foliar spray of liquid organic NPK + one foliar spray of liquid organic S (T9). On the basis of results GMR, NMR and B:C ratio, Highest GMR, NMR and B:C ratio were recorded in treatment application of compost @ 3.3 t ha-1+ soil application of Azatobactor and PSB @ 10.0 kg ha-1+ 3 foliar spray of liquid organic NPK + one foliar spray of liquid organic S (T9).
