Effect of graded levels of nitrogen and phosphorus on yield of calendula and fertility status of soil after harvest of calendula

Abstract

This research was conducted to investigate the effect of graded levels of nitrogen and phosphorus on yield of calendula and fertility status of soil after harvest of calendula, during winter season October 2018 to March 2019 at Horticulture Section, College of Agriculture, Nagpur. The treatments comprised of four levels of each nitrogen 50, 75, 100, 125 kg ha-1 and phosphorus 0, 25, 50 and 75 kg ha-1 The fertilizers applied as per the treatments for evaluate the yield of calendula and soil fertility status after harvest of calendula. The Experiment was laid out in factorial randomized block design with three replications. The maximum number of flowers plant-1 (55.16), flower yield (94.60) q ha-1 with respect to yield parameters were recorded significantly higher in (100 kg N ha-1 + 50 kg P ha-1) and pH of soil (7.63), EC of soil (0.509 dS m-1), organic carbon (5.99 g kg-1), available N in soil (327.32 kg ha-1), available P in soil (22.81 kg ha-1) and available K in soil (354.05 kg ha-1) with respect to soil reaction and soil fertility status were recorded significantly higher in treatment (N3P3-125 kg N ha-1 + 75 kg P ha-1).
