Deciphering stability of rice genotypes for grain yield under salt stress environment

Abstract

Salt stress is a major abiotic stress hinders rice production and productivity globally. The present investigation was conducted to evaluate 50 rice landraces for their stability against salinity tolerance with respect to grain yield. The research was conducted at Regional Research Station (RRS), Chinsurah, Hooghly, and in Bidhan Chandra Krishi Viswavidyalaya, West Bengal, India. Pooled analysis of variance reflected existence of genotype × environment interactions and with both linear and non linear components of the interaction. From the present study it could be concluded that regarding yield Nonabokra and Saraswati were suitable genotypes for all environments. Kaushalya, Dudheshwar, Nalini and Sashi were suitable for better environments. Biraj, Kunti, Mandira, Ranjeet, Bhudeb, Purnendu, Lalat, NC 678, Dadsal, Mohan, Jarava, Lunishree, Gobindobhog, Sadamota, Khejurchari and Aduisen were found suitable for poor environments.
