Effect of planting time and pinching on flowering and flower quality of Chrysanthemum CV. Ratlam Selection
Abstract
A field experiment on the effect of planting time and pinching on growth and quality in Chrysanthemum cv. RATLAM SELECTION was carried out during the period between October 2017 to February, 2018 with four planting time and three levels of pinching and laid out in factorial randomized block design with three replications. Later planting on 3rd week of November resulted in minimum days for flowering parameters and and diameter of flower. Earlier planting on 1st week of October showed maximum duration of flowering span, length of flower stalk, vase life, shelf life, in situ longevity of flowers. Non pinched plant minimum days for flowering parameters and improved quality parameters of flower. While later pinching (50 DAP) resulted in maximum flowering span.
