Growth rate analysis of onion in India under WTO regime

Abstract
The data were obtained for the period of 33 years beginning with 1980 to 2012. The data were divided into two periods i.e. pre-WTO period (1980 to1995), post-WTO period (1996 to 2012) and overall period (1980 to 2012). The results of the study revealed that the area, production and productivity of onion in India has increased during the entire period of study. The area under onion, production and productivity of onion in India has increased with more growth rates during post-WTO period as compare to the pre-WTO period.
