Effect of Azotobacter, FYM (Farmyard manure) and PSB (Phosphorus solubilizing bacteria) on the yield and yield attributing characters on pearl millet (Pennisetum glaucum).

Abstract

The experiment was conducted at the farm of Mr. Radha Krishan at village Khippan wali, Teh. Fazilka, District Fazilka in Punjab state during July-October 2018. To study the Effect of Azotobacter, FYM (Farmyard manure) and PSB (Phosphorus solubilizing bacteria) on the yield and yield attributing characters on Pearl Millet (Pennisetum glaucum). Azotobacter, FYM (Farmyard manure) and PSB (Phosphorus solubilizing bacteria) were used for experimentation the effect of Azotobacter, FYM (Farmyard manure) and PSB (Phosphorus solubilizing bacteria) on Plant height (cm), Cob length (cm), Number of tillers per plant, Grain yield per plot (g) and Test weight (g) were observed. Results showed that maximum average plant height (191.2cm), average cob length(28.8cm) and yield per plot (6986.59g) was obtained in T2 i.e (RDF N @ 40 kg/acre and P @ 24 kg/acre) + Azotobacter @ 4 kg/acre). Maximum average number of tillers (3.2) were obtained in T1 (RDF (N @ 40 kg/acre and P @ 24 kg/acre) + PSB @ 4 kg/acre). Test weight (11g) remained maximum in T3 (PSB @ 4 kg/acre + FYM @ 4tonnes/acre) as compared to T5 control
