Oxygen uptake of Olyra longicaudata (McClelland, 1842) in relation to body weight

Abstract

Oxygen uptake is a valid measure of metabolism on which production of aquaculture depends. The weight specific oxygen uptake in Olyra longicaudata was still unknown. So, the fishes were collected from Chisang river basin, Letang from February to July, 2019. Oxygen uptake rate of the fishes was carried out in laboratory of Post Graduate Campus, Biratnagar conducted by the cylindrical glass respirometer with the aim of estimating oxygen consumption. Data were analyzed from logarithmic transformations of body weight and oxygen uptake expressed by the allometric equation.
