Abstract
About 2-5% of people experience deep-vein thrombosis (DVT) during their lives. Death, disease recurrence, post-thrombotic syndrome, and excessive bleeding due to coagulant medications are among the most important DVT complications. Proximal femoral fractures can cause increased risk of DVT due to its prolonged recumbency. In this study, we evaluated 120 patients with age > 40years to study incidence of DVT and associated risk factors for its development.
