Fish fauna of in River Harrow at Dhara Site Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan

Abstract

The present investigation was conducted from March 2013 to February 2017 to carry out study the fish fauna of in River Harrow at Dhara Site Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan. A total of 06 species of fish were recorded and identified up to the species level. The recorded ichthyofauna comprising Labeo rohita, Labeo caeruleus, Schizothorax plagiostomous, Garra gotyla Wallago Attu and Mastacembelus armatus respectively. The identified fishes belong to 3 Orders, 3 families, 5 genera and 6 Species. From the current study it can be concluded that River harrow at Dhara sampling site is more favorable for Cyprinidae family.
