Wound healing effect of methanolic flower extract of Bauhinia tomentosa Linn. with emu oil in rats
Abstract
Objective: To investigate the wound healing property of methanolic flower extract of Bauhinia tomentosa with emu oil. Method: Male Wister albino rats (n = 25) were used in this study. Excision wounds were created on the skin of five groups of 5 rats using surgical blade under anesthesia. The first group was topically treated with Vaseline alone, group 2 was topically treated with standard i.e., Soframycin ointment, group 3 was treated with Bauhinia flower extract alone, group 4 was treated with Emu oil alone and group 5 was treated with combination of Bauhinia flower extract and Emu oil.
