Comparison of single bundle and double bundle anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction tunnel techniques: Prospective study

Abstract

Anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) damage or injury is the most frequent type of sports injury to the knee and could result in recurrent knee instability, meniscal tears, and articular cartilage degeneration. This study aim was to compare results of single bundle and double bundle double tunnel surgical procedures for anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction. Patients were enrolled from May 2018 to November 2018 and followed up for six months duration. Before surgery, we compared the mean Tegner Lysholm score between the SB and DB group which was 52.50 and 56.0 respectively and differences among them were not statistically significant (p=0.076).
