First record of Munidopsis scobina Alcock, 1894, (Family: Munidopsidae) (Crustaea: Decapoda: Galatheidae), off Thoothukudi coast of gulf of Mannar

Abstract
One species of the squatlobster genus Munidopsis Whiteaves, 1874, Munidopsis scobina Alcock, 1894 was recorded from deep-water off Thoothukudi waters. Munidopsis scobina is first recorded, off Thoothukudi coast of Gulf of Mannar. The present records show its extended distribution from Gulf of Mannar to South East coast of Arabia, Moluccas off West cost of Halmahera and further to Indonesia.
