Screening of soybean germplasm for important disease prevalent in North India

Abstract

The objective of this research was to evaluate soybean genotypes for immune/resistance to Rhizoctonia aerial blight, Bacterial pustule, and mosaic under field conditions in Tarai regions of Uttarakhand. The experiment was conducted at N. E. Borlaug Crop Research Centre, G.B Pant University of Agriculture and Technology Pantnagar, Udham Singh Nagar, Uttarakhand which is considered as hot spot for these diseases. Only accession AMS 115 showed resistant with disease rating of 1 for all the three diseases i.e. YMV, BP and RAB, indicate no damage by all three important diseases. whereas 12 accessions (GP 499, JS 20-72, G5P22(IR), PKS 54, JS 20-80, PS 1241, Cat. 586, Cat. 751, PS 1347 (C), PS 1092 (C), Bragg (C) and PS 1042 (C) showed resistant with disease rating of 1 for YMV and BP, showing no damage by YMV and BP.
