Field evaluation of insecticides for management of spotted stem borer, Chilo partellus (Swinhoe) (Lepidoptera: Crambidae) on maize
Journal of Entomology and Zoology Studies · 2017 · Vol. 5(5) · pp. 1719–1723
Abstract
Management of spotted stem borer, Chilo partellus (Swinhoe) on maize by insecticides was conducted in the Agricultural research station, Hagari (Ballari) UAS, Raichur, Karnataka during Kharif 2016. The results revealed that, the insecticide viz., imidacloprid 60 FS - chlorantriniliprole 0.4 G, imidacloprid 60 FS - fipronil 0.3 G, imidacloprid 60 FS - carbofuran 3 G were found to be effective molecules against Chilo partellus. Next superior treatments in order of priority were chlorantriniliprole 0.4 G > imidacloprid 60 FS + flubendiamide 39.35 SC > fipronil 0.3 G > carbofuran 3 G > flubendiamide 39.35 SC > imdacloprid 60 FS.
