Abstract

The present study is part of the biodiversity component. It is a commented checklist of the species of the three subfamilies of Neanuridae (Frieseinae, Neanurinae and Pseudachorutinae), Odontellidae and of Brachystomellidae. Twenty six collembolan species were collected, including 7 Frieseinae, 5 Neanurinae, 6 Pseudachorutinae, 6 Odontellidae and 2 Brachystomellidae. Frieseinae were particularly diverse with seven species of the genus Friesea, two among them were endemics in North-East of Algeria. The Neanurinae were represented by five species, one of them was a new genus and two were endemics. The Odontellidae were represented by six species new for Algeria and the whole North African region one of them was an endemic. Firstly interesting character of this fauna was the importance of endemisme: Friesea laouina, Friesea major, Edoughnura rara, Deutonura zana and Superodontella tayaensis. Secondly the collembolan fauna of this present study showed affinities with that of the Mediterranean area.
