Efficacy of some pesticides against rice sheath mite, Steneotarsonemus spinki Smiley (Acari: Tarsonemidae)
Abstract
An experiment was conducted during kharif 2014-15 to 2016-17 at Main Rice Research Centre, Navsari Agricultural University, Navsari to test the efficacy of some pesticides against rice sheath mite, Steneotarsonemus spinki Smiley. Among all the pesticides tested, diafenthiuron 50 [email protected]% were found most effective in controlling the S. spinki. The next best treatment was chlorfenapyr 10 [email protected]% and fenpyroximate 5 [email protected]% in terms of a cent reduction of sheath mite population. The highest grain and straw yield was recorded in the treatment diafenthiuron 50 [email protected]% which were followed by chlorfenapyr 10 [email protected]% and fenpyroximate 5 [email protected]%. In terms of ICBR the treatment diafenthiuron [email protected]% was found most superior over the rest of the treatments.
