Evaluation of rice varieties for rice Root knot Nematode (Meloidogyne graminicola)

Abstract

One hundred sixty three released rice varieties of different states were evaluated for rice Rootknot nematode in net house conditions. None of the varieties were found to be resistant. Out of these, 7 varieties namely Khanish, Uday, Basmati-370, Jogen, Dinesh, Vanaprava and ASD-16, were found to be moderately resistant (score-2). The most popular varieties viz., IR-64, Naveen, Dharitri, Mahsuri, Sarala, Durgaetc were susceptible. The varieties viz., Satabdi, Sabita, PR114, Savitri, Geetanjali, Tapaswini, Pooja, Sambhamahasuri, Ratnaetc were found to be highly susceptible having score 5.
