Length-weight relationship of Gobio sakaryaensis (Teleostei: Cyprinidae) from Camkoru Pond (Ankara-Turkey)
International Journal of Fisheries and Aquatic Studies · 2015 · Vol. 2(6) · pp. 424–426
Abstract
This study describes the length–weight relationship (LWR) of Gobio sakaryaensis Turan, Ekmekci, Luskova & Mendel, 2012 from the Camkoru Pond (Ankara-Turkey). A total of 40 specimens were obtained by different nets throughout one year between August 2002 and August 2003. Total lengths ranged from 4 to 13 cm. The length–weight relationship showed a positive allometric growth (b = 3.217; R 2 = 0.97). This study presents the first reference on LWR for this species. The results also indicate a new maximum total length not previously reported in the international literature.
