Abstract
Geschwindigkeits- oder selektivitätsbestimmend? Die Messung des kinetischen Isotopeneffekts (KIE) liefert wertvolle Informationen über den Mechanismus einer Reaktion, bei der Planung und Interpretation der Experimente ist aber Vorsicht angebracht. Je nach Experiment bedeutet die Beobachtung eines primären KIE nicht zwangsläufig, dass eine C-H-Bindungsspaltung im geschwindigkeitsbestimmenden Teilschritt der Reaktion erfolgt.
