Abstract

[reaction: see text] Silver iodide catalyzed the three-component coupling of aldehyde, alkyne, and amines to generate propargylic amines with high efficiency in water. The silver-catalyzed reaction is especially effective for reactions involving aliphatic aldehyde. No additional cocatalyst or activator is required.
