Abstract

A series of platinum(II) terpyridyl acetylide complexes, [Pt(trpy)(C≡CR)]PF 6 (R = C 6H 5, C 6H 4Cl-4, C 6H 4CH 3-4, C 6H 4OCH 3-4, C 6H 4NO 2-4, benzo-15-crown-5, C 6H 3-(OCH 3) 2-3,4), have been synthesized and characterized. Their luminescence and electrochemical behaviors have been studied. The ion-binding properties of [Pt(trpy)(C≡C-benzo-15-crown-5)]PF 6 and the X-ray crystal structure of [Pt(trpy)(C≡CC 6H 5)]PF 6 are also reported.
